The State of the Student in 2015

Our state has increased tuition by over 80 percent since 2008; the highest in the Nation, while decreasing per-student funding by over 40 percent; the most in the Nation since 2008. In this year's budget we saw those gaps widen; as universities were cut in funding by 100 million and Maricopa and Pima Community Colleges lost all funding. As our state recovers from the recession, it does so on the backs of students.

40 years of working for Arizona's Students

Friends,

For the past 40 years, voter registration has been the bedrock of building student power throughout the United States.  Locally, the Arizona Students’ Association has been fighting for decades to register their peers on the university campuses and build their power as at voting block- to win real victories for students. Students have engaged their peers individually, in club meetings, on the sidewalks, and most importantly, in the classrooms where nearly 2/3 of all new students are registered.
